Sailing North. Feb 19

Sea day today.  Went to presentation about Castro which turned out to be irrelevant since the captain announced that we’re skipping the port due to weather.  Worked out in the gym, went to a cooking demo followed by team trivia.  We REALLY missed our entertainers.  We held onto our cumulative lead but it was a bad showing.  The captain announced the itinerary change in order to avoid the worst part of a huge storm on the Pacific coast.  Not sure what this will mean for our sailing.  Went to a final penguin presentation.  Scenic cruising past El Brujo glacier then dinner at The Grille.  Enjoyed our special bottle of wine courtesy of Roland.

·        I’m up at 8am  mjp has started the laundry.  I go to Seabourn Square for coffee.  I handle clothes drying -- tag team.
·        This is a day at sea, as is tomorrow
·        Run into Chris the asian guy from the 4 some we’d sat next to at dinner 2 nights ago.  He reminds me that it was 2 nights.  Apparently almost everyone who did our trip yesterday skipped dinner too.
·        Lunch worked well!  Recognized when I sit down and the server/asst maitre d’ asks if mjp would want sparkling water.  This is good. Comes after I’d told both Roland and Nic that she’d been ordering it for every lunch and dinner for 2 weeks.  Anyway, we’re pleased it happens.
·        Afternoon together then final penguin lecture.  Afterwards I buy a patch and mjp buys house a coffee mug.  The lecturer is the guy who wrote about South Shetland islands for the National Geog issue we’ve been using as a travel blueprint for years..
·        Nice to have unlimited access to cappuccinos.   Watching out from Seabourn Square and seeing deck chairs fly by…
·        Tonight dinner at Thomas Keller finally.  Unimpressive.  Not clear whether service is off too or it is intentional.  We’re done in 1 ½ hours.
·        I call guest services.  Two things. Thanks to Roberto the bar manager for multiple beer choices!  Request for Roland’s bottle of wine to be at Thomas Keller…
·        Captain is skipping Castro stop in 2 days because of the weather…  300 miles of open ocean in our future…
