Sailing North. Feb 21
Woke up to smooth sailing and gorgeous scenery
in the Chilean Fjords. Ate breakfast outside. Beautiful!
Worked out in the gym and then we won again at team trivia so we’re
feeling optimistic. Today was Galley Market Lunch which was basically an
elaborate buffet staged in the galley.
Had lunch with Maggie and Tom from trivia. They live in Michigan
but seem to do a lot of traveling, especially in winter. Ordered caviar and enjoyed it on our veranda
with the champagne Seabourn gave us at sailing. Sunny, relatively warm
day today so we enjoyed being outside including dinner at the pool. Beautiful and more interesting food than The
Restaurant. Too bad the Antarctic
weather didn’t allow us to enjoy more pool dinners. Gorgeous sunset.
·
We’d gone to bed at 11.
I’d taken an ambien. Up at 730 for
views. Breakfast in colonnade but on
outdoor section in back Double order of french toast and syrup. Attention
from everybody. We are most decidedly on “the list”. Woman (bleached blond hair/asst manager) says
one more time that she is available if we need anything… In other words,
I want to be helpful before you tell my boss
·
Have to turn down
probably 10 offers of coffee fills
·
Check out level 5
outside too Nice seating outside but it’s really too cold..
·
Go over to lunch early
with a bottle of kunstmann edel lager to be able to claim an outdoor table.
·
Meet up with MJP and 2
of her trivia people in The Restaurant. They’re doing behind the scenes
tour today of all the food prep. Interesting. Huge!
·
Beautiful weather
outside.
·
Nap. Then MJP’s caviar
for 2 delivered to room. I’d stopped down at S Square and got chocolate
shake! If only I’d known these were possible from day 1!
·
Next stop obs bar.
Ashley and multiple bottles of the coated peanuts. Dolphins surfing in
front of ship. Even the bar tender goes outside and takes pix! End up talking to Dennis who’d owned the
homebrew supply store in Seattle and now lives in Florida.
·
Convo with Dennis prods
us to leave at 655 for 700 opening of dinner at patio bar. Roberto comes
by twice, proud of beers he’d gotten me. He said that he’d arranged a car to
take him various places where he picked up beers! I talk to the patio bar guy
who wants to show me what he’s got (only 1-2 bottles of each) and it turns out
that Roberto had already given me all of them!
·
Roland stops by to say
hi. Leon from South Africa is one of our waiters. We’re really starting
to feel like we fit in at this point.
·
We get a dinner table outside
along the glass and spend nearly 2 hours enjoying the views and the better
food. Later we conclude that overall best food is out here on patio, and
number of servers.
·
Bed time is 10pm because
we’re getting up at 515 for our tour tomorrow.
·
Starting to feel quite
nostalgic to be leaving even though we have tonight (nearly over), tomorrow
night (formal goodbyes) and the night after that, then kicked off at 8am
